A person presenting Presence Key at a controlled access point

Presence / 01 · Human authority

Presence
Key.

A personal physical device designed to let your system check that the expected person is present for one defined action—before money moves, access is granted or a system acts.

The human boundary

One physical check.
One bounded result.

Key adds an independent condition at the moment of consequence. It does not replace identity, policy or the institution responsible for the final decision.

How Key works

A specific request.
A physical response.

A Presence check relates to one defined request, not a general permission to act as someone. The institution keeps the final decision.

  1. 01

    The institution asks.

A defined threshold is reached. The request identifies the action, expected person and assurance condition.

  2. 02

    The person participates.

The expected person presents their enrolled Key at an enabled physical checkpoint. The Key itself is designed not to require a wireless connection.

  3. 03

    Presence is checked.

The result indicates whether the required person-and-Key presence check is satisfied for this request. It is not a standing authorization for future actions.

  4. 04

    Existing policy acts.

The institution keeps authority to permit, deny, record or escalate the consequential action.

Where Key matters

Use it where the
wrong person changes the outcome.

Begin with a bounded decision rather than a broad identity transformation.

A governed human approval boundary for an autonomous systemAutonomous action

AI execution gate

Require renewed human presence before an agent crosses a defined consequence threshold.

Financial authority

Exceptional value

Treasury movements, banking changes, procurement and payouts.

Privileged control

High-impact systems

Administrative action, recovery, service change and machine authority.

Access

Critical spaces

Facilities, vehicles, shared equipment and temporary access.

Custody

Accountable handoff

Protected services, controlled assets and transfer of responsibility.

Design characteristics
ConnectivityNone required

Key is not another connected endpoint.

Personal bindingBiometric

Designed to check the registered person and Key together, rather than possession alone.

Operating lifeTo be validated

Designed for a bounded, replaceable lifecycle.

IntegrationPartner-agnostic

Existing policy remains in control.

System boundary

Establish presence.
Preserve authority.

Key can establish a physical participation condition. Your institution retains identity, mandate, policy, exception handling and the final action.

Key establishes

The expected person is physically participating.

A purpose-limited result for one defined action and context.

Your system retains

Who is authorized and what happens next.

Identity, roles, limits, downstream decisions and the operational record remain under institutional governance.

Presence Key evaluation

Bring the action that cannot accept the wrong person.

We will define the physical claim, operating boundary and evidence needed to decide whether an evaluation is justified.
